A few weeks back we had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. The tempura fried avocado egg rolls were so dang good. The rest of the meal was lackluster which was to be expected. I’d definitely go back for those egg rolls. Talk about avocado goodness in every bite.
The following weekend, we had lunch at Gloria’s on Lemmon. The food was great, but the service was slow. We waited 45 minutes for our food to be served. We would have enjoyed our meal more had we not loaded up on several baskets of chips. I had the Camarones a la Plancha and the hubs had the Combination #1. I preferred his plate to mine. His dish had more flavor. Who are we kidding? The highlight of the meal was the chips, salsa and black bean dip.
We had a light lunch at Fish City Grill at Preston and Royal. It was okay. We wanted the flavor and quality of Hook Line and Sinker. We didn’t get it. We made up for it by having lunch there yesterday. Their food is the greatest. Hubs had the shrimp basket and I had a tilapia po boy. That plus a few Miller Lites. Yep, we were in a good place.
At home, we’ve enjoyed our crockpot. It’s just too dang hot to turn on the oven. Last week, we had pulled pork and last night we made a brisket. I have limited my baking to first thing in the morning. We’re still working our way through a key lime pie. As soon as that disappears, I have plans for a bag of frozen berries. If you guessed cobbler then you are so right.
